Daniel Sample, manager of Fort Bend County Libraries' Genealogy and Local History Department will present a special family-history-research program, "Organizing Your Genealogy with Spreadsheets," on Saturday, August 20, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab at George Memorial Library, 1001 Golfview in Richmond, Texas.
Sample will show researchers how to use MS Excel to create a spreadsheet to label and organize photographs, letters, and documents in order to keep track of them and make storage and retrieval easier. Those attending the class will also learn how to use Google Docs to store and share spreadsheets.
Some knowledge of using spreadsheets is recommended for this class.
The program is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required. To register online at the library's website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us, click on "Calendar," select "George Memorial," and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the library at 281-341-2608, or by visiting the library's Genealogy and Local History Department.
